GET CREATIVE
Making images in response the world is a big part of what makes us human. Making images to encourage response helps make us marketers. I believe applying artistic sensibility to graphic design elevates the message, lending credibility and garnering interest a less developed message fails to do.
My goal is not only to capture attention with beautiful graphics, it is to encourage attention to linger a moment longer and give the intended message a better chance at sticking.
GET LOW
I’m S. Christian Taylor-Low. I go by Chris.
I am a creative—I make art, I take photographs and I design graphics. I take complicated ideas and find visual ways to make those ideas understandable and approachable.
Double-majoring in art and political science, I launched into the world thinking I wanted to play politics in Washington, D.C., which landed me at a public relations agency. My passion for art and design quickly led me back to the art department, learning interactive design for awareness campaigns.
Fast forward 15 years or so—I’ve amassed vast senior-level graphic design experience, in both digital and print production, with a variety of organizations: an endurance sports coaching company in Colorado Springs, an environmental think tank in Boulder, a Tony-Award winning theatre in Washington, and now a software company in San Diego, serving customers in education, healthcare and city and county governments.
REFERENCES
Chris and I worked for nearly 2 years together as the de-facto marketing team for Chamber Dance Project, of Washington, D.C. A small troupe, with a fiercely creative and daring choreographer, demanding intensive thought in the visual expression of her brand and work. Prior to teaming up with Christian, I had worked mostly in larger New York Branding and Advertising firms with no shortage of talented creative directors. Chris played at this level, with a somewhat more thoughtful view than most of communication strategy and tactics to build customer relationships and image consistent with overall strategy. His creative firepower was on display as a matter of course, and his ingenuity for clever and “noise” defying tactics was perhaps his strongest suit. I’m happy to chat with you or any of your colleagues about Chris. A considered, thoughtful and amiable individual. I’d sign up to work with him again in a heartbeat.
